Built for teams who can’t afford slow answers
Docnition helps document-heavy teams find the exact clause, policy language, or internal guidance in seconds—with citations—so work moves forward faster and with confidence.
Our story
Why we built Docnition—and what we’re optimizing for.
Docnition started with a problem we lived every day.
Inside one of Canada’s top banks, retrieving the right technical documentation to answer a real question quickly was consistently challenging—especially under time pressure. With thousands of people working across technology, teams aren’t always familiar with each other’s systems, architecture decisions, or regulatory obligations. When integration or collaboration time arrives, it often turns into a long “discovery phase” where teams hunt through folders, PDFs, and outdated docs just to find the right answer.
That discovery work is expensive. It slows delivery, increases risk, and reduces productivity.
So we built Docnition: a system that organizes internal knowledge and returns source-linked answers from your own documents—so teams can verify quickly and move on.
Why it matters for law firms and insurance teams
Law and claims workflows are document-driven and time-sensitive. When the right clause or precedent isn’t instantly accessible, teams get stuck, callbacks increase, and costs add up.
Citations and page references so you can confirm quickly—especially during live calls.
Permissions that respect matter/claim boundaries so users see only what they’re allowed to see.
Designed to reduce discovery time so work moves forward without costly follow-ups.
The team
We’re McMaster University graduates and builder-first founders. We’re currently onboarding a small number of early access teams to shape Docnition around real workflows.
Product, engineering, and go-to-market. Focused on building Docnition into a fast, trustworthy system for teams that rely on documents to make decisions.
Engineering and product development. Focused on building the retrieval and document processing engine that powers source-linked answers and reliable search at scale.
